Day 2
I went to spin class. There are two instructors there that really push me to my limits, Julie and Sarah (I just realized that all our spin instructors are female, though a large portion of the attendees are female) and I had Julie today. She does a great job of interspersing sprints with core and tricep exercises so that your HR never really plummets. I also have created a little supplement to spin that I occasionally like to do prior to the class but did afterwards this time (thanks to a misplaced ID card) I mix 4 sets of 25 crunches (alternating between obliques and front) with 6 lb free weights 10 reps per set, 3 sets in between the crunches. I'd like to come up with more free weight exercises but for now I just alternate between bicep curls, overhead triceps, fly weights (I think that's what they're called) and two more that I don't know the names of but supposedly they work the back and chest area. I'm told that to successfully complete push-ups one must have a strong back so my goal is to work both the arms and back with these exercises.
